The Ginsu Hanaita Series

Since 400AD, Damascus blades have been created through a unique process in which layers of steel are forged together creating an ultrasharp, super-strong blade. Ginsu continues the age old Damascus tradition by using 33 layers of superior Japanese high carbon and low carbon stainless steel with VG-1 core to from a superior Japanese Stainless Steel Damascus blade.The blades are sharpened to a razor sharp Asian knife edge angle of 10°, and then cryogenically cooled in our proprietary process. This cryogenic process uses liquid Nitrogen to draw the molecules of the steel closer together for ultimate edge retention, sharpness, and superior performance.

Hanaita knife handles are designed with comfortable POM material that offer the highest level of professional balance. The Ginsu Shinogi symbol which is artfully located in the center of each handle, and the Japanese Hanaita symbol emblazoned on the steel end cap give each Hanaita knife a distinct look. When not in use, the knives are stored in an incredibly strong and visually stunning, solid bamboo knife block.
